Periodically, we turn over control of the CenturyLink Cloud blog to members of our certified technology Ecosystem to share how they leverage our platform to enable customer success. This week’s guest author from the Cloud Marketplace Provider Program is Matt Pley, VP Carrier & Service Provider Group, at Fortinet.
Cloud computing is becoming increasingly popular among enterprises looking to take advantage of quick deployment, unprecedented scalability, and cost savings. Both public cloud adoption and private cloud infrastructure, including virtualization and software-defined networking (SDN), are rapidly transforming data centers worldwide. Evolving your infrastructure means your security must evolve as well. If your security can’t keep up with the agile public, private, and hybrid cloud environments of today, gaps in protection will occur. The Fortinet Security Fabric has integrated next-generation firewall (NGFW) technology with the CenturyLink Platform to help businesses achieve end-to-end security without the complexity.
End-to-end Next Adaptive Security Protection
The award winning Fortinet Security Fabric network security solutions provide end-to-end security across the entire network. FortiGate enterprise firewalls are optimized for internal segmentation, perimeter, cloud, data center, distributed, and small business deployments. Organizations can simplify their security posture with one security solution across your physical, virtual, and cloud deployments.
Organizations can choose individual services, or get access to all available services with the Fortinet Enterprise Bundle, which offers both flexibility and the broadest range of protections. Additional critical defense subscriptions can be easily added.
Each virtual FortiGate ships with the broadest range of security and network technologies of any virtual firewall on the market today. By including all of these technologies with the FortiGate-VM license, organizations have complete flexibility to deploy the right mix of technologies to fit their unique, virtualized environments and address their concerns about migrating data to the cloud.
Each FortiGate-VM delivers the same comprehensive suite of consolidated, integrated security technologies as industry-leading FortiGate physical appliances. This suite includes the latest NGFW technologies, such as:
IPv4/IPv6 firewall, application control, and intrusion prevention, which deliver unmatched granular management and control of data, applications, users, and devices.
Technologies to block today’s spear phishing attacks, APT's, and other targeted attacks such as anti-spam, antivirus, Web content filtering, and data leak prevention.
Essential protection for remote users and offices such as VPN, endpoint protection, two-factor authentication, and vulnerability management.
FortiGate-VMs provide proven security while realizing the flexibility and benefits of VM-based packaging: unmatched ROI, rapid provisioning, east-west traffic visibility, unlimited scalability, and consolidation.
They can also be tightly orchestrated with hypervisors, cloud management, and SDN controllers through purpose-built integration or with FortiGate Connectors.
FortiGate virtual firewalls enable and secure enterprise organizations with:
Top-rated protection tested by NSS Labs, Virus Bulletin, and AV Comparatives
Deep visibility and granular control of applications, devices, and users
Flexible licensing and provisioning to support on-demand consumption models
Simplified security with easy-to-manage, single-platform solution
Actionable reports to enforce policies, understand targeted attacks, and meet compliance
Support for all major hypervisor, cloud, and SDN platforms
The Fortinet Security Fabric product strategy is built around a multi-tenant architecture. Fortinet solutions have the breadth and depth to address securing data as it moves to, through, and outside of the cloud. By providing centrally-managed physical and virtual solutions that deliver the broadest range of network security offerings in the industry, Fortinet helps protect critical data, from the customer to the cloud and back.
Fortinet on CenturyLink Cloud
Our partnership with CenturyLink Cloud allows businesses to increase security, not complicate it.
Fortinet on CenturyLink Cloud via FortiGate, can be deployed to your CenturyLink Cloud account via a Service Task. Although Service Tasks are ordinarily billed to the end user account, CenturyLink will provide a refund for the Service Task costs associated with deploying the Fortinet Partner Template. The process to request a refund can be found in this document. After deployment, users will have a functioning FortiGate High Performance Next-Gen Firewall upon which they can quickly start securing workloads in the cloud.
